Every year, Agathon Group employees gather for a week-long retreat to refresh, recharge, and reflect on the previous year. As a virtual company with employees spread out over several time zones, it’s a treat to set aside time for onsite team meetings. This year, we gathered in Grand Haven, Michigan. We thought we’d share some of our highlights:
We started off the week with a little table tennis, air hockey, and a more serious, but equally fun, state-of-the-company talk. At left, Marissa Watson and Paul Yuen play table tennis and at right, Luke Baker and Ron Veenstra get serious about air hockey.
The team hit the ground running Tuesday morning with a collaborative session on client rights and how we can make them known through everyday communication and project work.
Alan Ritari (left) and Morgan Foster (right), the Agathon Group-resident chefs, created delicious meals for staff to enjoy throughout the week.
(Left) Paul Yuen, art director, shared about human-centered design and how Agathon Group is using those principles. (Right) Brian Pikkaart, systems engineer, gave us a view into the current state and future of our systems.
(Left) Throughout the week, the team worked on a puzzle of an atlas between team meetings, (middle left and middle right) listed and sketched out ways to present valuable server information in a client-friendly manner, and (at right) each person added a piece to finish the puzzle.
To bring our Agathon Group retreat to a close, staff families in the West Michigan area joined us for a barbecue at the retreat house and after time on the beach, s’mores and lots of coloring, the kids posed for a cute group photo.
Vanessa is responsible for coordinating conference sponsorships and creating marketing collateral to help support our team and public-facing story.
